Archive material and source history
Lado Oposto formed in Brasília, Brazil, mixing reggae, hip-hop, and samba. Their first album came out in 2003, followed by records like Tempo in 2005 and Santo Karma in 2008. The band included Rodrigo Lima on vocals, Pedro Valle on guitar, Thiago Minssen on bass, and Gabriel Guimarães on drums.
Their 2008 album Santo Karma drew criticism from some conservative groups over its title track, which touched on religion and spirituality. The band kept making music anyway, releasing O Som da Revolução in 2011 and Pura Energia in 2017. One of their songs, Santo Karma (parte II), became particularly well-known among their fans.
Other tracks like 02h25 AM, Busque!, Calma...Ria!, and Canção Brasileira show the range of their sound. They played live too, putting out an album called Ao Vivo in 2014.
