Lado Z formed in Barcelona in 1996. The Spanish alternative rock band included Pepe Andreu on vocals and guitar, Dani Ferrer on drums and vocals, Uki Goñi on bass and vocals, and Ricardo Vicente on guitar and vocals. Their debut album 'Afuera' came out in 1999, featuring the track 'A Fuga'.
Their music drew from post-punk and experimental rock, sometimes incorporating flamenco elements. They released albums like 'Veinte años' in 2001, 'Esquimales' in 2004, and 'Contraportada' in 2007. Other songs in their catalog include 'Gato Preto', 'Metalurgia', and 'Tecla Suja'.
In 2021, Lado Z put out their eighth studio album 'Que el cielo te ate'. The record returned to their raw, experimental approach while adding some electronica and ambient textures.
