Lady May formed in London in 2010 with Maya Jones on vocals, Jake Richards on rhythm guitar, Ethan Carter on lead guitar, and Sam Thompson on drums. Their debut single 'Hit the Floor' came out in 2012 and became their breakout track. The band's first album, 'Break the Sky,' followed in 2013.
Bassist Oliver Green left the group in 2013, and Sarah Harris joined on bass and backing vocals. They released two more albums, 'Unleash the Fury' in 2015 and 'Rising from the Ashes' in 2017. Other songs in their catalog include 'I'll Do This For You' and 'Money Makes The World Go Round.'
In 2016, another band accused Lady May of plagiarizing a melody for 'Hit the Floor.' The matter was settled legally. The group hasn't released new music since 2017.
