LADZ formed in Athens, Greece in the early 2000s around brothers Aris Archontis on vocals and guitar and Thodoris Archontis on drums. They were joined by bassist Dimitris Manthos and guitarist Giannis Papageorgiou. Their 2005 single "Ares" became their breakthrough track, drawing inspiration from the Greek god of war.
That song appeared on their debut album "The Birth of Ares" in 2005. They followed it with three more full-length records: "The Legion of the Doomed" in 2007, "Rise of the Damned" in 2010, and "The Last Stand" in 2013. Other notable songs from their catalog include "Hoje e Nunca," "Pra Mais Ninguém," and "Tanto Faz."
The band's sound shifted across those four albums, starting with a raw approach and gradually incorporating more experimental elements.
