Lagarto Amarillo formed in Alicante in 1983, with Antonio Arias on vocals, Jaime García Soriano on guitar, Javier Arias on bass, and Miguel Ángel Heredia on drums. They started playing local clubs, building a following before releasing their self-titled debut album in 1987.
Their 1989 album 'Ahoraluego' gave them their most recognizable song, the title track that became a national hit. The band's sound mixed rock with flamenco touches, and their lyrics often dealt with love and social themes. They released several more albums through the 1990s, including 'El Atún y la Sal' and 'A Tutiplén'.
Lagarto Amarillo broke up in 1998. Songs like 'Crío' and 'Cuéntame' remain part of their catalog, but it's 'Ahoraluego' that most people remember when they hear the band's name.
