Laggus is a Portuguese musical collective from Porto that formed in 2014 around three friends: Tiago Nacarato, Marta Bateira, and Pedro Oliveira. Nacarato handles vocals and guitar, Bateira plays piano, and Oliveira provides percussion. They've released two studio albums, including their 2017 debut 'A Cura (Para o Meu Pensar)' which shares its name with one of their most recognized songs.
Their music tends toward ethereal melodies with introspective lyrics that touch on love, loss, and personal reflection. Beyond 'A Cura (Para o Meu Pensar),' other tracks like 'Desordem e Retrocesso' and 'Sopro (Metáforas)' show their range. They've performed at Portuguese festivals including Super Bock Super Rock and Nos Alive.
As independent artists, they've navigated the usual challenges of balancing music with other responsibilities, sometimes turning to crowdfunding. Their 2019 album 'Ouve' included a song that sparked some debate for its portrayal of a same-sex relationship, though the band continued working through such moments.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
