Lagrimita y Costel

Lagrimita y Costel formed in Granada in the early 1990s, with Costel Garrido on guitar and vocals and Lagrimita García on percussion and vocals. They self-released their debut album 'Contratiempo' in 1995 after facing some initial resistance from labels, building a following through word of mouth rather than radio play.

Their third album 'Bajo La Lluvia' in 2001 brought wider recognition, particularly the title track 'Bajo La Lluvia,' a ballad about a couple finding shelter together during a rainstorm. That song became their most recognizable work, along with tracks like 'Caballo de Palo' and 'El baile de las lombrices' from their catalog.

Their sound mixes traditional Spanish flamenco elements with contemporary pop arrangements. They've recorded over ten studio albums across more than two decades, with lyrics that often circle around love and melancholy. Their live shows were noted for the emotional interplay between Garrido's guitar work and García's percussion and vocals.
