Lais Dágola is a Brazilian band formed in 2015 around vocalist and songwriter Lais Costa, with guitarist Davi Simioni, bassist Gabriel Gama, and drummer Felipe Navalho. Their debut album 'Solitude' came out in 2017, followed by the 2019 album 'Ciclo Vicioso' which gave them their breakthrough. The title track from that album, along with songs like 'Last Kiss' and 'Fly With You,' became some of their most recognized work.
Costa's lyrics often touch on personal and social themes, which has drawn attention both positive and negative. The band's sound pulls from Brazilian popular music, folk, and alternative rock, creating a space for introspective songs that feel grounded in their local context while reaching listeners elsewhere.
They haven't shied away from addressing topics like gender and inequality in their music, which has sometimes put them at odds with more conservative parts of the industry. But the focus has remained on the songs themselves, direct, emotionally charged pieces that work in conversation with the arrangements rather than as statements alone.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
