Laís Ellen is a singer-songwriter from Salvador, Bahia. Her music draws from MPB and reggae, and she leads a band with guitarist André Oliveira, bassist Bruno Bergamasco, and drummer Lucas de Paiva.
Her 2015 single "A Ponte" became a national hit, with lyrics that touched on connection and understanding. The song also drew some criticism for its perceived political undertones, but she held to the idea that music could inspire social change.
She has released albums like "Plural" in 2018 and "Terra" in 2021, along with other songs such as "Vem Com Teu Reino". Her work often centers on themes of unity and community in Brazil.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
