Lais V'Sant formed in northern Italy in the late 1990s, with vocalist Silvia Cynara at the center. Their debut album 'Angel of Hell' came out in 1997, featuring the title track that became one of their best-known songs. The band's sound drew from ethereal folk and dark rock, with lyrics that often dealt with love and loss.
They released several albums over the next decade, including 'The Shadow's Embrace' in 1999 and 'Whispers in the Wind' in 2001. Another track, 'From Chaos,' also appears among their most recognized work. Their music sometimes incorporated elements of Gothic rock and Celtic folk, creating atmospheric soundscapes that could feel melancholic to some listeners.
Francesco Barbieri played guitar in the band. They kept recording through the 2000s, putting out 'Dance with the Devil' in 2003 and 'Lost in the Labyrinth' in 2006. Their final album 'Echoes of Eternity' arrived in 2010.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
