Laity formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 2002. They're a Christian metal band, and their name comes from the Greek term for 'people of God.' Their debut album 'The Divine Fire' came out in 2005, followed by 'As We Stand' in 2007. They've released several other albums including 'With Bloodshed Comes Cleansing' in 2010, 'As Above, So Below' in 2013, and 'Lost Between Brightness and Darkness' in 2015.
The band's lineup has included lead vocalist Tim Lambesis, guitarist Mark Garza, bassist Dave Schuler, and drummer Kyle Baltus. Lambesis typically writes the songs, which the rest of the band then helps develop. They've had songs like 'Falling Up,' 'Wide Place,' and 'Yliof' among their work.
In 2013, Lambesis was arrested and charged with soliciting murder. The existing history cuts off there, so that's where the available information ends.
