Lamed Resh

Lamed Resh formed in Israel around 2007, started by brothers Erez and Idan Solomon with vocalist Yael Meyer. Their music draws from the book of Ecclesiastes, giving songs like 'Eclesiastes 3' and 'Como não Reconhecer' a reflective, sometimes somber quality that has drawn both listeners and critics.

Their debut album was called 'In the Garden of Mysteries,' followed by others including 'The Path of the Righteous' and 'The Book of Shadows.' The group's sound tends toward ethereal harmonies and lyrics that circle questions of purpose and mortality, as heard in tracks like 'Em Espírito' and 'Entrega e Confia.'

They've kept a fairly low profile over time, working with a shifting cast of musicians while staying focused on that particular biblical text as their main source material. The music doesn't try to resolve the tensions in Ecclesiastes so much as sit with them, which has made their catalog a quiet, persistent presence rather than a mainstream breakthrough.
