Lammah formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2014, started by three childhood friends: Lucas Nunes on vocals, Rafael Vasconcellos on guitar, and Marcelo Vasconcellos on bass. They put out their first album, self-titled, in 2018. That same year, their song 'Até o Fim' caught on in Brazil, becoming a kind of anthem for people going through love and heartbreak.
They followed that up with a second album called 'Aurora' in 2021. Their sound pulls from pop and rock, with some Brazilian rhythms mixed in. Other songs like 'Quanto Tempo' and 'Sofrimento e Glória' show the same kind of emotive, lyric-driven style that people connected with on 'Até o Fim'.
In 2019, there were some accusations that 'Até o Fim' sounded too similar to another Brazilian song, which the band defended against. Lucas Nunes has also talked about using music to work through personal struggles with mental health.
