Lampirônicos

Lampirônicos formed in the late 1980s around singer-songwriter Paulo César and guitarist Rodrigo Bittencourt. Their music mixed traditional Brazilian rhythms with rock, which felt different from what else was happening at the time. They put out their first album, Pop Zen, in 1990, and that title track became something of an anthem.

Their lyrics often touched on things like sexuality and social inequality, which got them labeled as rebels in some circles. Their live shows added to that reputation, with surreal visuals and pyrotechnics that weren't typical. Still, they built a dedicated following, people who connected with that direct, sometimes confrontational style.

Other songs like Logo Eu and Olhou Pro Céu showed their range, moving between introspective moments and more straightforward pop. They kept releasing albums through the mid-90s, each one shifting the sound a bit, some more experimental, some leaning back into catchy melodies.
