Lance King formed in 2003 with Lance Ellington on vocals, Rick Martinez on guitar, Max Garcia on bass, and Jake Thomas on drums. Their debut album 'A Given Choice' came out in 2005, and the title track got some radio play. They put out a second album called 'The Road to Redemption' in 2007.
Epic Records signed them in 2009, and they released a self-titled album the following year. That record had songs like 'Take My Hand' and 'Follow the Light' on it. In 2012, Ellington was arrested on drug charges and stepped away from the band for a while. The other members kept playing during that time.
