Archive material and source history

Lance Miller came out of Kentucky and put out his first album, 'Honky Tonk Heartbreak,' in 1994. It didn't sell much, but he kept at it. Three years later, his second album, 'A Country Boy's Blues,' had a song called 'Beers Not Just For Breakfast Anymore' that caught on.

That song got him on the charts, but it also got him in trouble. Some people thought it was funny, and some thought it was a bad idea. Miller didn't back down from it, but after that, a lot of folks just saw him as a novelty act.

He had other songs, like 'George Jones And Jesus' and 'There Will Come a Day,' but it was the breakfast beer one that stuck. For a while there, you couldn't get away from it on country radio, whether you wanted to or not.
