Lannon formed in 2015 with vocalist Damhnait Doyle, guitarist Michael McClelland, bassist Dermot Lynch, and drummer David O'Connor. Their debut single 'Black and Hollow' reached the top of the Irish charts. The band's first album, 'The Hollow,' came out in 2017, followed by 'Ashes and Embers' in 2019 and 'Nightfall' in 2021.
Doyle's vocals and McClelland's guitar work give the music its particular character. Songs like 'Chameleon' and 'Guide Me Through The Dark' show the band working with melancholic melodies and introspective lyrics. In 2018, Doyle was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition, which led to a pause in touring.
Their sound draws from gothic rock and post-punk, with some ethereal folk elements. Other tracks include 'Firefall' and 'Living Hell.'
