LaNova formed in 2010 as a quartet with vocalist María Andrade, guitarist Sergio Carmona, bassist Carlos Fernández, and drummer Miguel Gutiérrez. Their debut single "Acaso" became an immediate hit in Spanish pop, establishing their sound around Andrade's expressive vocals and emotive lyrics.
While "Acaso" remains their most recognized song, they've released other tracks like "Ao Seu Lado" and "Dias Imperfeitos." Their later albums "Alas" (2015) and "El Reflejo" (2019) showed them incorporating rock, folk, and flamenco elements into their music.
In 2014, the band faced a legal dispute with a former label and dealt with plagiarism accusations. They continued working through these challenges, letting their music stand on its own terms.
