Lanza Internacional formed in Mexico in 1997, playing corridos that tell stories about love, loss, and everyday life. The band is led by vocalist and songwriter Adrián González. Their 2001 album "Corredor" became a major release for them, sharing its name with one of their well-known songs.
Over time, they've worked with musicians like accordionist Mariano "El Chala" Ramos and drummer Juan Carlos "El Piri" Pérez. Their catalog includes songs such as "Huellas Digitales," "Perna," and "Estación Central," which follow the corrido tradition of narrative storytelling.
Some of their material has drawn attention for depicting figures involved in drug trafficking, though the band has maintained they're simply working within their genre's storytelling conventions. They've recorded with other Mexican acts including Los Tigres del Norte and Banda El Recodo.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
