Lapageria Rosea

Lapageria Rosea formed in Porto Alegre, Brazil, with Diego Seixas on vocals and guitar, Marcelo Rangel on bass, and Rodrigo Conde on drums. They took their name from a rare Chilean flower, which felt fitting for music that often balanced delicate folk textures with something more grounded. Their debut album 'Amanhecer' came out in 2003, followed by 'Atravessando' in 2006, which included the title track that became one of their most recognized songs.

That song 'Atravessando' and others like 'Dulce Inocencia' and 'El Aliento de Las Olas' have a particular quality, melodic folk-rock arrangements that leave space for Seixas's lyrics. The band's later albums, 'Das Cinzas' in 2012 and 'Noites sem Luar' in 2016, continued in this vein, with the latter described as a return to their folk-rock roots. Their work has stayed within a certain lane, avoiding major stylistic shifts for a consistent, introspective sound.
