Lapso formed in Brasília in 2016, started by Lucas Silveira on vocals and guitar with Leonardo Monteiro on drums and Thiago Fogaca on bass. Their first EP, 'Partes de Mim,' came out that same year, followed by the album 'Nem Te Conto' in 2018. They work in a space between post-punk, grunge, and shoegaze, which gives their sound a particular texture.
Their 2021 album 'Guia Para o Caos' included 'Meu Abismo Sou Eu,' a song that connected with listeners for its direct handling of mental health themes. Other tracks like 'Situação' and 'Lagrimas e Sangue' show the same tendency toward inward-looking lyrics, often dealing with anxiety and self-examination. The band has said they see their music as a form of release for people facing similar struggles.
They've kept a steady output since starting, navigating the ordinary pressures of being in a band without making a spectacle of it. Their songs tend to speak quietly to specific feelings rather than aiming for anthems, which might be why they've found an audience that returns to them.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
