Las Pelotas

Las Pelotas formed in Buenos Aires in 1988 with Germán Daffunchio on vocals, Alejandro Sokol on guitar, Gastón Guevara on bass, and Gustavo Jove on drums. Their debut album 'Amor Seco' came out in 1991, followed by records like 'Corderos en la Noche' in 1995 and 'Esperando el Milagro' in 1999. The lineup has shifted over time, with Daffunchio and Sokol staying constant while others like Waldo Belloso, Sergio Colombo, and Juan Terrenal have come through.

Their songs often deal with personal and social themes, with Daffunchio's vocals carrying a raw, poetic quality. Tracks like 'La colina de la vida,' 'Mas que un deseo,' and 'Muchos Mitos' show their blend of introspective lyrics and melodic rock. They've worked with artists including León Gieco, Andrés Calamaro, and Adriana Varela.

In 1997, they faced legal trouble over using the word 'pendejo' in a song, which was considered derogatory. They've also drawn criticism for alleged drug use and partying. Through various challenges, they've kept recording, putting out albums like 'Chac-Chac' in 2002, 'Bala Perdida' in 2008, and 'Brutal' in 2017.
