Lasgo

Lasgo was a Belgian electronic trio active in the early 2000s, built around vocalist Evi Goffin and producers Jelle Van Dael and Peter Luts. Their 2001 single 'Something' became a major international hit, defining their sound of pop melodies over trance beats. They released several albums during that period, including 'Far Away' and 'Alone', and had other tracks like 'Pray' and 'Still' that followed a similar formula.

After the peak success of 'Something', the group faced some pressure to maintain that level of popularity. They also dealt with some legal disputes over copyright, though the specifics are less documented. Their music and videos sometimes drew criticism for being too provocative, with debates about whether they were exploiting Goffin's image or simply expressing adult themes.

The band went on hiatus for several years before a brief return in 2016 with the single 'Gone'. That reunion didn't last, and Lasgo officially disbanded in 2018. Evi Goffin pursued solo work afterward, while Van Dael and Luts continued with production. Their song 'Something' remains the track most people remember, still getting played in clubs and mixes long after the group stopped making new music together.
