Archive material and source history
Latte & I Suoi Derivati were an Italian pop-rock trio from Brescia, formed in 1992 with Marco Muraro on vocals and guitar, Fabio Crivellaro on bass, and Flavio Toffoli on drums. They released their self-titled debut album in 1995, but it was the 1996 single '500 Sotto Il Sole' that really connected with listeners. That song's straightforward melody and everyday lyrics seemed to catch something in the air at the time.
Their 1997 album was also called '500 Sotto Il Sole', and it included tracks like 'Alla Fiera Der Tufello' and 'Amico E''. They put out two more records, 'Modulatori Di Frequenza' in 1999 and 'Becco Giallo' in 2003, which featured songs such as 'Ay Carramba' and 'Bono Come Il Pane'. There was some talk about a plagiarism claim around another song in 1997, but it didn't stick.
After 2003, they stopped releasing new music. For a band that had a handful of albums, '500 Sotto Il Sole' is the one most people remember.
