A Rio de Janeiro duo blending samba, bossa nova, and pop rock since the early 2000s.
For a sense of their sound, try 'Motorista' or 'Amor, Cê Me Fudeu'.
Lau e Eu's music pulls from Brazilian rhythms like samba and bossa nova while working in pop and rock elements. Their song 'Amor, Cê Me Fudeu' became an early hit, dealing plainly with love and regret. Their lyrics sometimes touched on sexuality and social issues, which drew some criticism at the time.
The band formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s around vocalist Déa Thubluty and guitarist Gabriel Moura. They released albums including 'Clichê' in 2005 and 'Não Se Preocupe' in 2009, took a hiatus around 2013, and returned in 2017 with 'Na Palma da Mão'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
