Laudeci Alvez

Laudeci Alves was born in 1956 in Pontal, Minas Gerais, a rural town in Brazil. He started playing guitar and singing at local gatherings early on, which is how he first built a following around home.

His big break came in 1984 with the single "Só Penso Em Voltar." The song became a hit, topping charts with its straightforward take on longing and unrequited love. Alves's plain-spoken delivery and the track's simple arrangement connected with listeners in a way that felt direct, not polished.

After that success, he kept recording through the late 1980s and into the '90s, putting out albums like "Falta Você," "A Vida É Uma Volta," and "Tão Difícil." The music stayed in that same vein, ballads about love and loss, delivered without much studio fuss. He took a break in the '90s, dealing with personal issues including alcohol addiction, then returned to recording later in the decade with "De Volta ao Começo."
