Layla formed in London in 2004, with Lori Lieberman on vocals and Kevin Griffin on guitar. Dave Woodford played bass and John McGarry was the drummer. Their first album was self-titled, and they followed it with records like 'The Other Side of Midnight' and 'Barricade'.
In 2012, they released 'The Only One,' which became their most recognizable song. Other tracks from their catalog include 'Nós Dois,' 'Smokestacks,' 'Black Mud,' and 'Cassiopeia.'
Around 2015, the band had a legal dispute with their former label, which they eventually won. In 2018, Griffin faced accusations of inappropriate behavior from another musician.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
