Lazaro Azevedo is a Brazilian singer and songwriter from São Paulo. His music blends gospel with Brazilian popular music, and his 1999 debut album 'Na Hora Que Deus Quer' included the title track that became well-known. Other songs like 'Campeao em Deus' and 'Canaa' have also been part of his catalog.
He has released albums fairly regularly since then, including 'Tempo de Vitória' in 2001, 'Deus é o Meu Pastor' in 2003, and 'Infinito' in 2019. His work often involves themes of Christian faith.
Some of his recordings have featured other Brazilian gospel artists like Aline Barros and Fernanda Brum. He has worked with musicians including Davi Sacer on keyboards and Samuel Mizrahy on bass.
In 2015, Azevedo had open-heart surgery. He has also been known for expressing views on social and religious matters that have drawn attention.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
