Lazlo Bane formed in 1996 in St. Louis with Chris Link on vocals and guitar, Rodger Brockenbrough on bass, and Patrick Carney on drums. They started playing local bars and clubs, eventually releasing their debut album '11 Clover Lane' in 1998. That record included 'Superman,' which got significant radio play and became their best-known song.
Carney left the band in 2001, and Steve Samuels took over on drums. They kept recording through the 2000s, putting out albums like 'All the Time in the World,' 'Broken Hearted Savior,' and 'Chase the Sun.' Their sound had a straightforward pop-rock feel, with songs like 'Carbon Copy' and 'Alone Again' showing their melodic side.
They released their fifth studio album 'Back to the Woods' in 2008. The band's lineup has centered on Link and Brockenbrough through most of their work.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
