Overlanders

There's a trade you all know well

It's briging the cattle over

On every track to the gulf and back

Men know the Queensland over

So it's pass the billy 'round boys

Don't let me pint pot stand there

For tonight we'll drink the health

Of every Overlander

I'm from the Northern plains

Where the girls and the grass are scaty

Where the creeks run dry or theb foot high

It's euther drought or plenty

There are men from every land

From Spain and France and Flanders

They're a well-mixed pack, both white and black

The Queensland Overlanders

When we've earned a spree in town

We live pigs in clover

And the whole damn cheque goes down the neck

Of many a Queensland drover

As I walk on down the street

All the children raise my dander

Saying mother dear pull inyour skirts

Here comes as Overlander

Now I'm bound for home once more

On a prad that's quite a goer

And I'll find a job with the crawling mob

On the banks os the Maranoa
