Le Couleur formed in Paris in the early 2000s around vocalist and guitarist Cyril Mokaiesh, bassist Alexis Julliard, and drummer Frédéric Boullerne. Their debut album 'Trente' came out in 2009 and included the song 'L'amour Le Jour,' which became their breakout track. They've released several albums since, including 'Soleil' in 2013, 'Bleu' in 2017, and 'Vert' in 2021.
Their music pulls from French chanson and electronic elements, with songs like 'Femme' showing their style. The core trio has stayed together, sometimes adding other musicians for recordings or shows.
They've kept a steady presence without much drama, just putting out records every few years. Their sound has a certain Parisian quality to it, melodic and a bit atmospheric, that's remained consistent across their albums.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
