Le Prince D'egypte

Le Prince D'Égypte was a French musical ensemble that formed in the early 1990s around singer-songwriter Richard Cocciante. The project centered on creating a musical based on the biblical story of Moses, with Cocciante joined by musicians including keyboardist Marc Aymon and bassist Patrick Hampartzoumian. They premiered the work in 1991.

Their 1998 single 'Deliver Us' became particularly well-known, with its melody and lyrics about hope reaching audiences beyond France. Other songs from the production include 'All I Ever Wanted,' 'When You Believe,' 'Le Regard Divin,' and 'The Plagues.'

Some critics at the time questioned how the musical handled the biblical source material, suggesting it took liberties with the original story. The ensemble's work remained focused on that initial production rather than developing into a conventional band with multiple albums.
