Leandro e Fernando were a Brazilian sertanejo duo from Goiás who began performing together in the mid-1980s. Their 1989 debut album 'Nosso Coração' featured the hit 'Eu Vou Abrir o Meu Coração,' which became one of their most recognizable songs. Leandro, the older brother, wrote lyrics that often drew from personal experience, while Fernando handled musical arrangements and sang harmonies.
They recorded together for about a decade, releasing albums like 'Quebra-Cabeça' in 1991 and 'O Último' in 1994. Songs like 'Canta Alegremente' and 'Grande É o Senhor' showed their blend of heartfelt lyrics with accessible sertanejo melodies. Leandro died in a car accident in 1998, after which Fernando continued performing solo, sometimes revisiting their earlier material.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
