His 1996 album "Amor de Cemitério" gave him a signature song of the same name, a ballad about a romance between a living woman and a dead man that drew both criticism and a cult following.
He started in Rio de Janeiro, drawing inspiration from his grandmother's stories. Early on, his dark, ethereal style didn't fit easily on mainstream radio, so he built an audience through live shows and independent releases. Other albums include "Sob o Signo da Morte" from 1990 and "Musa Cadáver" from 2001.
Songs like "Mais Zen" and "Sou eu" show his range within that atmospheric, sometimes gothic territory. He kept recording into the 2000s, with "Necrotério" arriving in 2008.
