Their sound had a straightforward rock foundation with some Brazilian folk touches, heard on tracks like 'Aqueces-me' and 'Baixo Leblon'. The band's core lineup during their peak years included Eduardo Dussek on vocals, Paulo Schuh on guitar, Arthur de Faria on bass, and Marcelo Gross on drums.
Leão went through some rough patches in the late 1980s and 1990s, with drug problems affecting several members and Dussek's arrest in 1997. They took a break around that time but came back together in 2003 and have played shows occasionally since then.
