Lechuga formed in 2002 in Alcobendas, Madrid, with Rubén Pozo Prats on vocals and guitar, Chema Ruiz on guitar, Miguel Ángel Hernando on bass, and Javier Fernández on drums. They put out their self-titled debut album the following year. In 2005, Prats left the band and was replaced by vocalist Dani Martín.
The band's 2007 album 'Año Cero' included the song 'Asfixia,' which became their most recognized track. They released several other albums, including 'Puedo Equivocarme' in 2005, 'Maravillas' in 2009, and 'Nunca Digas Nunca' in 2013. Lechuga went on hiatus in 2014.
