Leco Moura

Leco Moura is a Brazilian musician who formed a band under his own name in the early 2000s with guitarist Guto Santana and drummer Rodrigo Novais. They came out of Salvador, Bahia, where Moura had been singing in street settings. Their first album, also called 'Deixa Arder,' came out in 2004 and made them known quickly. The title track became a hit, a ballad that people connected with.

Moura was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2006 and kept performing during treatment. His songs sometimes dealt with social issues, which drew both support and criticism. Other songs like 'Peito Aberto' and 'Sem Horizonte' rounded out their early work.
