Lee Holdridge was an American composer who wrote music for television shows like The Waltons and Star Trek: The Original Series. He's best known for a Christmas song called Alfie the Christmas Tree, which he wrote after seeing a discarded tree on a London street in 1966.
That song became part of a medley that includes Carol for a Christmas Tree and It's in Every One of Us. While some critics found the lyrics sentimental, the song has remained popular during the holidays for decades.
