Lee Soo first appeared in 1991 as part of the group Two Two. He went solo a few years later, and in 1995 his single 'Everlasting Love' became a major hit in South Korea. The song's popularity was immediate and lasting, eventually becoming a standard ballad used in television and other media.
He studied at Kyunghee University, where he focused on developing his voice. His career included more than a dozen albums, with titles like 'The Best of Lee Soo' from 1996, 'Invitation' from 2000, and 'Rebirth' from 2015. He worked with other Korean singers such as Kim Bum-soo and Park Hyo-shin.
In the late 1990s, Lee Soo dealt with a vocal cord injury that required rehabilitation. Later, in 2014, he was involved in a legal dispute over the rights to 'Everlasting Love,' which he won. He performed with a regular band that included arranger Kim Hyun-chul and guitarist Lee Jae-hak.
