Leeann Womack grew up in Jacksonville, Texas, where her father worked as a country music DJ. She started out singing background vocals for Clint Black before releasing her self-titled debut album in 1997.
Her 2000 album 'I Hope You Dance' became a major country hit. A few years later, after going through a divorce, she wrote and recorded 'There's More Where That Came From,' which critics praised for its raw emotional tone. In 2008 she put out '(Now You See Me) Now You Don't,' a song about a broken relationship that some listeners interpreted as being about her ex-husband.
