Leeds formed in Porto around the mid-2000s as a Portuguese rock band. Their debut album, 'A Escolha Foi Sua,' came out in 2006 and gave them their first major song of the same name. They followed it with albums like 'O Meu Lugar' in 2008 and 'A História' in 2010.
Their sound leaned into straightforward rock with some pop touches, and songs like 'Clara' and 'Conquistas' kept a steady following. They put out records fairly regularly through the 2010s, including 'Sem Ti' in 2012 and 'Até Onde' in 2016, along with a live album from Lisbon.
Early on, some listeners thought their music was too mainstream, but they kept at it. In 2012, they had a legal issue with a former member over songwriting credits, which they worked through. The band's lineup included Pedro Gonçalves on vocals and guitar, Hugo Pereira on lead guitar, Miguel Costa on bass, and Tiago Silva on drums.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
