Lefebvre Margot

Jean-Paul Lefebvre and Françoise Margot began working together in the early 1970s. Their first album came out in 1971, and they followed it with records like 'Chansons de nos vies' in 1973 and 'Les amours d'antan' in 1976. That last one won them a Victoire de la Musique award.

Their song 'C'est la faute au bossa nova' became their most recognizable piece. It's a ballad that mixes French chanson with bossa nova rhythms, which was an unusual combination at the time. They also recorded 'Chacun garde dans son coeur'.

Some critics weren't sure about their sound when they started, but they kept making music their way. They were a duo until the late 1970s, with Lefebvre playing guitar and both of them singing.
