Left of Centre formed in London in 1997, with Pete Doherty on vocals, Carl Barat on drums, and John Hassall on guitar. Their debut album 'Just Music for the Supermarket' came out in 2000, followed by 'Am I Me?' in 2003. The title track from that second album, along with songs like 'Astronomic Playground' and 'Control,' became part of their setlist.
Doherty's behavior and drug use often drew more attention than the music, and internal tensions led to a breakup in 2004. They reunited a few years later and put out two more albums, 'No. 1' in 2006 and 'Made in Britain' in 2008.
