Left Side formed in Sweden in 1978 with Lars Ågren, Sven-Erik Magnusson, and Torgny Söderberg. Their debut album 'Mitt tonårshjärta' came out in 1980, and the title track became a hit in Sweden. The band's sound mixed pop, rock, and schlager with catchy hooks and harmonies.
In 1982, they released the album 'Mamma Mia' with the title track written by ABBA's Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. That song became a global hit, topping charts internationally. Other songs from their catalog include 'Like a Locomotion', 'Welcome To My House', 'Confusion In My Mind', and 'Atrofio de Vida'.
Lars Ågren left the band in 1985 and was replaced by Åsa Jinder. The group faced some public backlash after a 1983 concert incident, but they continued performing.
