Legion

Legion formed in Norway in the early 2000s around vocalist and guitarist Geir Bratland and drummer Frode Kilvik. They started playing underground gigs while working on their debut album, which came out in 2003 under the title 'Dark Legions.'

Their sound pulls from black metal, thrash, and doom, with Bratland's vocals and guitar work driving the music and Kilvik's drumming providing a heavy foundation. Songs like 'Prison Cell' and 'And Then, The Devil Said' show their blend of aggression and melody.

Later albums included 'The Great Magick' and 'Ravendark,' which continued in a similar vein. The band sometimes incorporated industrial or electronic touches, which didn't sit well with every listener, but they kept at it without much compromise.
