Leider formed in Boston in the late 1980s with Michael Leidecker on vocals, Zach Hamilton and Tom Brennan on guitars, Jon Cunningham on bass, and Rob Robinson on drums. They were a heavy metal band from the start, and guitarist Jimmy Kunes joined later, adding more intensity to their sound. Their debut album 'Resurrection' came out in 1991, followed by 'Unleashed' in 1993.
'Unleashed' included 'Shout,' which became their most recognizable track. In 1996, drummer Rob Robinson died in a car accident. The band released 'Armageddon' that same year, which they dedicated to him.
