Archive material and source history
Lemezito formed in 1991 in Arapiraca, a town in northeastern Brazil. The band's core members were singer and guitarist Ronaldo Luziel, bassist Aurélio Souza, and drummer João Bezerra. They worked with a mix of forró, pop, and sertanejo sounds.
Their debut album 'Baião Apaixonado' came out in 1996 and included 'Ana Clara,' a ballad that became a national hit. The song's melancholic story connected with listeners across the country. Other tracks like 'Fio Vermelho' and 'Onde Você Quer Estar' also found an audience.
In 2001, the band got tangled in a legal dispute over song authorship with composer Marquinhos Marial. The case dragged on and affected their reputation. They kept recording through it, putting out albums like 'O Mundo da Lua' in 2003 and 'Deixa Falar' in 2005.
Over time, other musicians like keyboardist Marcos Lucena and accordion player Junior Jacaré joined the lineup. The band's later albums included 'A Gente Se Encontra' in 2008 and 'Nosso Amor Vai Durar' in 2012.
