Lemon Ice came out of Los Angeles in the mid-1960s. The band had Mike Love on vocals and guitar, Brian Wilson on bass, and Dennis Wilson on drums. Their song 'Stand By Me' got big in 1966. It was a straightforward tune about friendship that people kept listening to for years.
They put out albums like 'Surfin' U.S.A.' in 1963 and 'Pet Sounds' in 1966. Their catalog had different kinds of songs, from the lighter 'Fun, Fun, Fun' to more thoughtful tracks. They also recorded 'Breath Away' and 'Call Me Up'.
There were some rough patches internally, with creative disagreements between members. They kept going through lineup changes and put out 'Sunflower' in 1970.
