Lena Park was born in California to Korean parents and studied piano from age six before getting classical vocal training. She moved to South Korea in her early twenties and released her debut album 'Lena Park Vol. 1' in 2005. That album included 'Inori~You raise me up,' a cover that became her breakthrough hit.
Her version of 'You Raise Me Up' reached audiences beyond Korea, though she faced criticism in 2007 for a slow, emotional rendition of the American national anthem at a baseball game. In 2013, she took a break from public appearances after being mentioned in connection with a political scandal, which she denied involvement in.
Other songs like 'My Wish' and 'Sweet (feat. Verbal Jint)' show her range across ballads and R&B collaborations. She has continued releasing albums including 'Dream' in 2014 and 'Mademoiselle' in 2018.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
