Lenuel

Lenuel is a Dominican music group formed around singer and songwriter Lenuel Zacarías in Santo Domingo. Their sound works with traditional Dominican rhythms like merengue and bachata, but they approach them with a more stripped-down, contemporary feel. The track 'Desnudate' features Alex Rose, Carlitos Rossy, and Dalex, who appear to be regular collaborators rather than permanent band members.

Their music tends to focus on straightforward emotional territory, love, loss, the usual complications. 'Desnudate' became their breakout song, and they followed it with tracks like 'Recuerdos'. They've worked with other artists in the scene, including El Alfa on 'Tú Me Enamoras' in 2020.

Some traditional listeners have questioned their approach, seeing it as a departure from purer forms. But the group seems to view what they do as simply another way to express Dominican culture, not as a replacement for anything that came before.
